"Where Do We Go From Here" Monthly Discussion

“Where Do We Go From Here” Monthly Discussion
Work, Unions, Economics!
March 14th, Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
at the Boggs Center. 3061 Field Street, Detroit.

Our discussion on Sustainable Economics will emphasize how we can’t think about economics in the 21st century the same way that Karl Marx did in the 19th century or FDR or John Lewis did in the 1930s. A JOB AINT THE ANSWER!!!!

How do we understand today’s economic crisis? How do we patiently and painstakingly create another American Dream, economically rooted in local/community-based agriculture and small enterprises and philosophically rooted in another concept of Work, Time, and the caring for one another which is the essence of community, and the Golden Rule which in some form has been integral to every religious faith down through the ages.

Please RSVP because space is limited. We ask that you read the referenced materials so we can all be prepared for the discussion:

  • The American Revolution: Notes from a Negro Workers Notebook by James Boggs: Chapter 3, “The Classless Society, What is Socialism?”
  • Changing Concepts of Revolution (notes by Grace Lee Boggs)
  • Capitalism Hits the Fan by Richard Wolfe
  • Marxism: A Native American Perspective by John Mohawk

The readings for the discussion can be found here.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, March 14 @ 2:00 p.m. We plan to start promptly at 2:00 p.m. and we will have some light refreshments at 1:30.

I am really enjoying the theme/design of your blog.
Do you ever run into any internet browser compatibility issues?
A couple of my blog readers have complained about my blog not working correctly
in Explorer but looks great in Chrome. Do you have any ideas to help fix this problem?
